About this file
This document contains drawing clarifications and notes for an HVAC upgrade project (Project #1302899) at a FAA facility, providing specific technical modifications and requirements across multiple drawing sheets. The notes cover both mechanical and control system modifications.
Key technical requirements include: flushing and refilling chilled/hot water systems before equipment startup, reusing control wire where specifications allow, renaming VAV-3 to VAV-T3, maintaining specific pipe spacing requirements, changing nomenclature from CWR/CWS to CHWR/CHWS throughout drawings, installing a circuit setter in the CHWS bypass while eliminating HWR bypass and CHWR solenoid valve, adding a new DDC gas meter, correcting VFD point labels, verifying boiler control temp sensor location, modifying MERV filter configurations to Analog Input points, relocating the freezestat, updating sensor specifications, and maintaining OA damper at required minimum without economizing. These modifications span multiple drawing sheets (G020, D300-D304, M100-M810) and address various aspects of the HVAC system upgrade.

1302899 PWM HVAC UPGRADE PROJECT
FAA DRAWING CLARIFICATIONS AND NOTES:
1. G020 - Contractor shall flush out both chilled and hot water systems and refill with appropriate composi on prior to temporary equipment start up.
2. D300-D304 – Contractor to reuse control wire to maximum extent assuming exis ng wire mee ngs specifica on. If not, all wire is to be demolished along with all devices.
3. M100 – Rename VAV-3 located in tower to VAV-T3. Update all system labels accordingly.
4. M400 – Please refer to page M803 for pipe spacing note “DISTANCE NOT TO EXCEED 4 PIPE
DIAMETERS”.
5. M607 – Change all CWR and CWS to CHWR and CHWS throughout drawing package.
6. M607 – Install circuit se er in bypass for CHWS. Eliminate HWR bypass. Eliminate solenoid valve on CHWR.
7. M6XX – Tie in new DDC gas meter in 2” pipe a er exis ng meter before take off. Coordinate with plumber. Detail for clarity on M813.
8. M802 – There should only be on point CHWP-1-VFD-P. The second point with label shall be
CHWP-2-VFD-P.
9. M803 – Verify loca on of Hardwired Boiler Control Temp sensor via manufacturer’s recommenda on.
10. M803 – 20% system flow is not necessary. Maintain differen al pressure, at minimum VFD speed. Bypass shall open to maintain VFD speed.
11. M805 – Change MERV 8 and MERV 15 filters to Analog Input (AI) points.
12. M805 – Freezestat shall be located on downstream face of hea ng coil for AHU-1.
13. M807 – Sensor shall be UNIT DISCHARGE TEMP SENSOR
14. M810 – Add mixed air temperature sensors. Add to sequence note 65.
15. M810 – Do not economize. Keep OA damper at required minimum.
