WIll the walls require paint per the base bid?

Correct. Materials and finishes shown in the elevations marked as (NIC) are not to be included. Blocking for future items is required, as well as painting the walls per the base bid.

BY

Spec 102219 will be removed. CEM

31 Open A Keynote 6 on the architectural plans says to protect finishes in place. Please clarify what finishes are to remain in place and be protected?

Refer to the room finish schedule on sheets A-611, 612 & 613 for room finishes designated ETR. The room finish schedule takes precedence.

BY

32 Open A Floor plans (A-111 through A-134) indicate a legend that shows access flooring with diagonal lines. The basement floor plans have checkered lines to indicate access flooring. Are the checkered lines on the floor plans (A-111 through A-134) supposed to indicate access flooring like the basement plans?

That is correct CEM

33 Open I On sheet A611 the Room finish schedule references WD-1 for wood ceiling, which keynote 15 says it is NIC. Please clarify if the intent is to install ACT1 at the areas to receive WD1 or to leave the areas to receive WD1 as exposed?

The intent is to install ACT1 in these areas. NOTE: The WD-1 ceiling/wall system located at the main entrances (rooms: 1105 Entryway, 1106

Bidder Inquiries

2/2/2018

35 Open A The specification allows for a "comparable product". Tate Access Floors manufacturers a 3"FFH access floor, consisting of pedestal assemblies and 24"x24" panels. At 3"FFH, there is approx. 1-3/8" of open/clear space below the panels for cabling. This access floor system can be leveled to account for inconsistencies in the sub-floor. The panels are mechanically secured to the pedestal assemblies.

Will this type of low finished floor height access floor system be accepted as a comparable product?

A 3" height is not acceptable for the raised floor. MRO

36 Open A Specifications 101100 and 102600 indicate products that are listed as "Not In

Contract" on the drawings. Are the spec sections provided for reference only or is the general contractor supposed to provide those products? Is blocking for those products required in the bid?

Correct, the specifications are for reference. Blocking is to be provided. MRO

37 Open A Keynote 5 on drawing A-606 indicates a bid option for electric roller shades. There is not a line item on the bid form for that option. Please advise?

Refer to Addendum 001. MRO

39 Open A Section 012700 Unit Prices Paragraph 3.1.B Requires that hourly rates be provided for various trades for After Hours and Weekend Work. If we are to provide these unit rates, does this mean that we are not to include costs for after hour and week end work in the Base Bid and Options?

The Unit Prices described in SECTION 012700 – UNIT PRICES will be used to help verify costs for future, potential Changes in the Work. If the Bidder determines that After Hours and Weekend Work is required to accomplish the Work defined in the Bidding Documents, those costs should be included in the Bid.

JBC

JBC

41 Open FAA Section 019113 General Commissioning Requirements Paragraph H1.b states to include the cost of commissioning in the total price. Does this mean that we are to include the cost of the Commissioning Agent or does this mean that we are to include the cost required for the participation in the commissioning process as outlined in the specifications? Please clarify.

A commissioning agent has already been hired by the Owner and will be paid by the Owner. The contractor is required to include the costs for participating in the commissioning process.

FAA

For example, on sheet A-102 at gridline 9 between grids G & F, they label an existing partition with A4. Please clarify if any work is to be done to these existing partitions that are labeled?

Clarification: walls at room #318 and #319 are new. CEM

50 Ready FP In the specification section 283111 DIGITAL, ADDRESSABLE FIRE ALARM SYSTEM, there are two sections I needed some clarification on. “1.7 Quality Assurance, B.

Fire Alarm demolition and installation shall be performed by a fire alarm technician” and “1.9 Sequencing and Scheduling C. …Fire alarm system demolition shall be performed by a fire alarm technician.” I am assuming this means device termination/removal and that any conduit or disconnect fire alarm cabling could be removed by the Electrical Contractor. This is important for us because we do not install/demo conduit especially on projects of this size, usually the Electrical

Contractor will remove/install any conduit and many times they install/remove the cabling as well and we come back to make the final terminations of devices & equipment.

Removal/installation of fire alarm conduit system and boxes shall be performed by electrical contractor. Removal/installation of fire alarm cabling, devices, and termination and testing shall be performed by fire alarm technician.

FAA

51 Open E The FAA electrical specifications tell us to use Galvanized Ridgid Conduit in electrical and mechanical rooms. During the walk through I noticed the majority of conduit installed in the electrical room is EMT. Will EMT in the electrical room be acceptable for this project?

Where subject to physical damage (up to 10' AFF), use GRC. EMT shall be permitted above this height.

52 Open G It is my understanding that Phase 2 will not be released until the end of the 300 day Phase 1. And then we start the Phase 2 1,090 schedule.

Correct MRO

53 Open S Has the concrete slab where the new utility transformers are to be mounted been engineered and approved to support the new transformers? There are currently openings in the concrete slab and with the new penetrations needed for the secondary conduits I am concerned about the strength of the slab.

Yes. The concrete slab with additional steel support are designed to support the new transformers.

TAL

54 Open G Although the specification say “all demo to be done during the hours of 6:00PM-

6:00AM” will we be allowed to work on demolition during normal business hours if we are not making excessive noise?

Only demolition work that creates excessive noise is to be conducted outside of normal business hours. If any work results in occupant complaints it is to be stopped immediately and resumed after business hours.
