About this file
This document is Amendment No. 5 to the Department of Transportation's (DOT) Bosch Brand CCTV Solicitation No. 693JK425R500011. The amendment addresses a vendor's inquiry about equipment components manufactured by ComNet instead of Bosch. The DOT's Office of Security clarified that for the Bosch C1US Card Cage Rack + 90-264 VAC 50/60hz Power Supply and three additional network components (CNFE2MC 100Mbps Media Converter, SFP-26, and SFP-25), offerors may propose either Bosch or ComNet components.
In response to the vendor's request, the contracting officer extended the proposal submission deadline to 11:30 PM Eastern Daylight Time on September 9, 2025. The amendment was issued by James H. Mowery III, Contracting Officer for DOT/OST/m-63, on September 5, 2025, providing potential bidders with additional flexibility in component selection and an extra day to prepare their proposals for this sole-source Bosch CCTV procurement.

Amendment No. 5 to
DOT’s Bosch Brand CCTV Solicitation No. 693JK425R500011
Additional Question Posed to DOT on September 5, 2025: While preparing our quote, I noticed another potential ambiguity in your equipment list. One of the listed items is manufactured by ComNet, not Bosch. Since this is a sole source Bosch procurement, I wanted to clarify how you'd like us to proceed with that item.
I’ve reviewed the documents thoroughly several times now, and everything else appears to be in order. I just wanted to be fully transparent and ensure we’re aligned before finalizing the bid. Also, is there a way we can get one additional day on due date to pull all of this together.
Bosch C1US Card Cage Rack + 90-264 VAC 50/60hz Power Supply (This is the ComNet part).
Answer:
Part A. After having researched this question, the Office of Security’s understanding is that the subject component, “C1US Card Cage Rack + 90-264 VAC 50/60hz Power Supply” is either:
(a) always manufactured by ComNet, but then sometimes has a “Bosch” label added on; or else (B) is functionally the same, for all of DOT’s practical purposes, regardless of whether it is manufactured by Bosch or by ComNet. Accordingly, this procurement’s cognizant contracting officer has made a decision to allow any offeror-company’s proposal to show that particular above-listed component as either a Bosch component or else as a ComNet component.
Part B: And that same Office of Security understanding also applies to the following also-needed components that were listed in the subject published Bosch CCTV Solicitation:
CNFE2MC 100Mbps Media Converter
SFP-26 100fx, 1550nm, 2km, SC, 1 Fiber, Pair with SFP-25, MSA
SFP-25
SFP FIBER MODULE, MULTI-MODE, 1310/1550NM, 2KM
DISTANCE, 1SC FIBER CONNECTOR pair with SFP 26
And so, for those three also-needed components listed immediately above in this Part B, this procurement’s cognizant contracting officer has likewise made a decision to allow any offeror-company’s proposal to show those also-needed components as either Bosch components or else as ComNet components.
Part C: The subject Solicitation’s proposal-submission-deadline is hereby extended to 11:30 PM Eastern Daylight Time, September 9, 2025.
James H. Mowery III Contracting Officer DOT / OST / m-63 September 5, 2025
