I am bidding on the guardrail portion of this project. Bid Item A1000 is for Buried in Backslope Terminal by the each, but they have a minimum of 125 Lnft per the standard drawing. Sheet # D.13 has a length of 85 Lnft and sheet # D.14 has a length of 77 Lnft. Please advise.

The limits/lengths listed on sheets D.13 and D.14 are those of existing guardrail installations. New guardrail needs to meet minimum lengths per the standard drawings

At this time, we are not planning on having a pre‐bid conference. If you have any questions about the Invitation for Bid (IFB), plans, or specs, please email wfl.plans‐spec@dot.gov, and we will publicly post responses to your questions on SAM.gov.

More than half of the MP locations referenced in the discharge spreadsheets do not correspond to MP locations provided elsewhere in the plans.

5 X Do materials disposed of with in right of way need to be tested per 201.14?

No, the contractor is required to test excavated materials outside the existing highway pavement generated to a depth of 18‐inch prior to disposal according to Subsection 203.05(a). Per 204.14, “Dispose of unsuitable or excess material within the right‐of‐way within 5 miles of the excavation at locations approved by the CO or according to Subsection 203.05(a).”

6 X Is the CO expecting a test at each excavation location?

If the material will be disposed of according to 203.05(a) then the requirements specified under subsection 204.14 will apply.

There is no reference if the project will be providing the in water work permits, or if they are required. Please clarify if these will be required at all or some of the culverts, and if Federal Highways is obtaining the permits or if this is the contractor is responsible for obtaining these permits.

8 X Is there any other allowance for 24‐hour flagging other than MP15.51? No, please bid according to the Solicitation Documents. 11/28/22

9 X Sheet H.1, H.2, & H.3 Call out item number 63503‐0400 & 63502‐2100 utilized at 42 of the project sites. Is it the intent of the CO to require temp barrier at all of these locations.

10 X Also sheet H.8 shows pinning all of the temporary barrier. Will this be a requirement as well?

pinning is required for all Temporary Concrete Barrier. 11/30/22

Moving 500 LF of barrier, pinning (if required), and setting attenuators does not allow for enough time to perform the work and remove the barrier to open traffic per 156.04. If it the CO’s intent to do this at each location listed in H.1‐H.3?
