About this file
This document includes a certificate of analysis and details of a federal contract opportunity. The certificate of analysis provides asbestos testing results for three samples taken from a black roof material at the VA Lyons Building 1 located in Bordentown, New Jersey. All three samples showed no detectable asbestos and consisted of 30% fibrous glass and 70% non-fibrous material.
The related federal contract opportunity is a solicitation to correct deficiencies at the VA New Jersey Healthcare System Building 1 located in Lyons, New Jersey. The contractor shall demolish existing structures and perform work required by engineering drawings and specifications to correct deficiencies. This is a set-aside procurement for Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses. The NAICS code is 236220 with a business size standard of $39.5 million. The construction value is between $1-5 million and work must be completed within 365 days of the notice to proceed. A pre-bid walkthrough is scheduled for June 2, 2022.

Accreditation
EPA 600/R-93/116Analytical Method:
Comments: (PC) Indicates Stratified Point Count Method performed. Method not performed unless stated. Quantification at <0.25% by volume is possible with this method. (PC–Trace) represents this limit of quantitation. (PC-Trace) means that asbestos was detected but is not quantifiable under the Point Counting regimen. Analysis includes all distinct separable layers in accordance with EPA 600 Method. If not reported or otherwise noted, layer is either not present or the client has specifically requested that it not be analyzed. Small asbestos fibers may be missed by PLM due to resolution limitations of the optical microscope. Therefore, negative PLM results cannot be guaranteed. Electron Microscopy can be used as a confirming technique. Regulatory Limit is based upon the sample matrix.
