About this file
This document provides details for an upcoming federal contract solicitation for the installation of anti-ligature door alarms at multiple Department of Veterans Affairs medical facilities. The solicitation will require the contractor to furnish, install, and interface a suicide deterrent and alarm system on seventy-five doors across five VA locations in California, Hawaii, Nevada, and Reno. The system must detect ligature attempts before pressure is applied, be addressable and self-monitoring, and capable of remote diagnostics. It shall record and display at least 64 recent alarm events with an electronic log available for review. The performance period is 150 days from notice to proceed, and the magnitude of construction is estimated between $500,000 to $1,000,000. The solicitation is designated as a total small business set-aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses. It will be issued on December 30, 2019 and posted to Federal Business Opportunities, with proposals due 30 days later unless amended. A single site visit is planned at each location.
