About this file
This Request for Information (RFI) document contains a detailed comment matrix for a VA construction project to install fall protection in parking garages at the Malcolm Randall VA Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida. The project, valued between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000, requires installing ballistic quality screen mesh and physical barriers over open areas of three parking garages above the first level, with a 371-calendar day performance period. The solicitation is set-aside exclusively for SBA certified, Veteran Owned Small Businesses (VOSB), with critical dates including a site walk on 06/24/2025, RFIs due by 06/30/2025, and proposals due by 07/24/2025. Key points from the RFI responses include clarifications on project scope, such as removing the P2 parking garage from the bid documents, confirming no commissioning services are required, establishing a low-risk infection control assessment, and specifying work hour restrictions (after 4:30 PM on business days and weekends).
