The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking proposals for Phase 5 expansion of the Houston National Cemetery, with a project cost between $20-50 million. The expansion will construct additional gravesites, improvements to existing structures including a hemicycle and chapel, and development of approximately 50 acres of land. It will add approximately 14,000 pre-placed crypt full casket gravesites, 350 oversize crypt gravesites, 2,000 traditional in-ground cremains sites and 8,000 columbarium niches. The project also includes a 300-gravesite Hybrid Natural Burial Memorial Wall with approximately 240 spaces and an Ossuary, a new gate entrance, roads, parking, utilities and site furnishings. Work must be completed within 730 calendar days of receiving the Notice to Proceed. The solicitation is set aside for 100% Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses, with proposals due August 10, 2020. Questions can be submitted until July 24, 2020 and offerors must be listed as an SDVOSB on Vendor Information Pages upon proposal submission.
