About this file

This document outlines filter performance standards and compliance requirements for a drinking water fountain and ice machine filter services contract opportunity in Florida (HCPS). The contract requires vendors to provide all necessary labor, materials, and filters for water fountain and commercial refrigeration filter services in compliance with local and state regulations, ASHRAE guidelines, and OSHA requirements. Drinking water fountain filters must meet NSF/ANSI 42, 53, 372, and 401 certifications to reduce chlorine, taste, odor, particulates, cysts, lead, total PFAS, and emerging contaminants including microplastics. Ice machine filters must comply with NSF/ANSI 42, 53, and 372 standards, with an optional requirement for NSF/ANSI 401 compliance. The district anticipates filter changes every six months based on current usage patterns and currently maintains indicators on all water fountains and ice machines to signal when replacements are needed.

The vendor selected for this contract will be responsible for maintaining current district logs documenting all filter changes and updating these records as new sites are added or as fountains and ice machines are added, removed, or replaced with new brands or types. The contract requires vendors to ensure compliance with all applicable performance certifications while managing ongoing maintenance and documentation responsibilities across the district's water infrastructure systems.
