About this file
This document is a comprehensive Project Manual for the Cincinnati Northern Kentucky Airport (CVG) Industrial Rehabilitation and Efficiency Program (IREP), prepared by Kohrs Lonnemann Heil Engineers in April 2025. The project involves a substantial renovation of the airport's industrial and mechanical systems, focusing on replacing major HVAC components across four passenger buildings. The scope includes replacing cooling towers, boilers, chiller equipment, emergency generators, electrical gear, pumps, and associated piping to modernize and improve system efficiency. The project manual contains detailed technical specifications for multiple construction divisions, including thermal and moisture protection, mechanical systems, electrical systems, and equipment installation requirements.
The project manual provides extensive technical specifications for each system component, with a focus on energy efficiency, equipment performance, and comprehensive installation guidelines. The specifications include detailed requirements for materials, installation methods, testing procedures, and quality assurance standards. The project appears to be funded through the airport's capital improvement budget, with an emphasis on upgrading existing infrastructure to improve operational reliability and energy performance. The technical specifications suggest a comprehensive approach to system replacement, including provisions for temporary services, site protection, coordination between trades, and post-installation commissioning and testing to ensure optimal system performance.
