About this file
This is Addendum One to a Request for Proposals issued by The University of Texas at Austin Procurement Services for the selection of a Construction Manager-at-Risk for the Red & Charline McCombs Softball Stadium Renovation project (RFP-CMR1023053-260004). The addendum, issued on April 3, 2026, clarifies and supplements the original RFP scope of work and supersedes any conflicting information in the base RFP. Proposals and VetHUB Subcontracting Plans are due on April 20, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. Local Time. The project scope encompasses four primary improvement areas: outfield expansion to add approximately 1,000 seats with permanent aluminum bleachers, restrooms, concessions, elevated aluminum walkways, and a perimeter enclosure; press box renovation including reconfiguration, interior finishes, AV/IT improvements, and a new exterior scoreboard; exterior and other improvements including facade renovation to complement other campus athletic facilities, demolition of the existing ticketing office, entry plaza modifications, and construction of a patio on the first base side; and renovations to two existing restrooms limited to aesthetic upgrades and finishes.
The Construction Cost Limitation (CCL) for the project is $9,400,000.00. The addendum provides detailed scope clarifications addressing design considerations such as utility services, field maintenance area renovation, and the integration of new elements with existing campus infrastructure. The project is undertaken by The University of Texas at Austin as the owner and contracting entity. The addendum was prepared by Celina Mercado of UT Austin's Procurement Services Construction Procurement office located at 1616 Guadalupe Street, Suite 3.302, Austin, Texas 78701.

ADDENDUM ONE PAGE 2 OF 2 4/3/2026 ISSUED
The following information is issued to change, clarify, supplement or further explain the above referenced RFP. This information shall supersede and take precedence over the information contained in the RFP in the event of a conflict.
ITEM #001: Scope of SBS Red and Charline McCombs Field Study
The current scope of the SBS Red and Charline McCombs Field Study is as follows:
1. Outfield Improvements
An outfield expansion is desired to reach approximately 1,000 additional seats. This includes improvements along the south edge of the existing facility to circulate from the first base line to the outfield, grade improvements, permanent aluminum bleachers in the outfield with foundations, and restrooms and concessions (portable/grab and go concept) to serve the outfield bleachers in the outfield. The bleachers are assumed to be connected to the proposed concrete sidewalk through elevated aluminum walkways. The sidewalk will connect back to the existing concourse through a ramp and stair, all within a perimeter enclosure. The perimeter enclosure will enclose this outfield addition and make it part of the current “interior” of the stadium. The design will consider the relocation of any areas or elements affected by this intervention, such as field maintenance, trash, and existing trees. The scope also includes re-grading and potential retaining walls as well as new utility services. Existing field maintenance area renovation will include singular covered space to accommodate equipment and materials.
2. Press Box Renovation
A renovation of the press box includes functional and aesthetic upgrades, including a reconfiguration of the space to better align with current program needs along with new interior finishes, AV, and IT improvements to support the space. It is assumed that the MEP systems supporting the press box will remain and new distribution within the existing exterior walls will accommodate the newly configured space. A new scoreboard will be placed on the exterior of the press box to serve the new seating section in the outfield area. No expansions are anticipated. Possible upgrades to the outside row which serves as an extension of the press box will be considered.
3. Exterior and Other Improvements
i. A renovation of the exterior façade to complement other athletic facilities on campus is desired. The design will reflect the University of Texas, and it will tie together the player development center and the exterior of the stadium.
Re-cladding the exterior wall with materials that align better with other athletic facilities in the area will be considered. Scope also includes demolishing the existing ticketing office and re-programming that space as well as potential modifications to the entry plaza to enhance the fan experience.
ii. A patio, near the ramp along the first base side is desired. The proposed patio will sit at the same level as the cross-aisle, allowing for a functional, conditioned space at grade to serve current and future needs.
iii. Existing restroom renovations. The two existing restrooms will undergo aesthetic renovations to achieve a modern appearance. It is assumed that fixtures will remain and renovations will be limited to finishes. HVAC and lighting will remain as well.
