About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document (Amendment P0009) related to the construction of a Fire Station at Big Cypress National Preserve Headquarters Complex. The document addresses two specific technical questions regarding electrical specifications:
Question 57 confirms that an Energy Reduction Maintenance Switch (ERMS) should be installed on the 600A docking station breaker per design choice, despite this typically being required only for breakers 1200A and above. Question 58 clarifies a discrepancy between drawings E6.03 and E8.02 regarding the generator setup, confirming that the generator is a non-separately derived source and both Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS-E1 and ATS-E2) should be 3-pole rather than 4-pole as incorrectly shown in the schedule on sheet E8.02.

Description Construct Fire Station
Amendment P0009
Question # Question: Answer:
57 On drawing sheet E6.01 indicates a ERMS on the docking station’s 600A breaker. This is usually a code requirement for breakers 1200A and above. It is understood this could be included for additional safety measures or per the engineer’s design choice. Do we proceed per the drawings?
Yes, per our design choice please proceed with an ERMS on the 600A docking station breaker.
58 On drawing sheet E6.03, the generator is indicated to be non-separately derived source. However, drawing sheet E8.02, Automatic Transfer Switch Schedule indicates the ATS-E1 and ATS-E2 to be 4 pole which are only needed on separately derived sources. Non-separately derived sources use 3 switched pole. Please advise how to proceed.
Per sheet E6.03 the generator is indeed a non-separately derived source. The Automatic Transfer Switch Schedule on sheet E8.02 is incorrect, both ATS-E1 and ATS-E2 should be 3-pole.
