About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document containing 41 contractor questions and government responses regarding the construction of a Fire Station at Big Cypress National Preserve Headquarters Complex. Key clarifications include: no fire alarm/suppression systems are required, naturally vented port-a-johns are acceptable, the contractor is only responsible for providing construction documentation for green building certification, no extensions are automatically granted for long-lead items, and the Period of Performance is 12 months (though partial Notice to Proceed may be issued for long-lead items).
Notable technical specifications addressed include: wall panel requirements (R-19.5 composite value minimum, 2" minimum thickness), road crossing repair details (4" depth asphalt), utility responsibilities (LCEC to provide poles and overhead wire, contractor to provide underground conduits), and clarification that irrigation is not required though water access will be provided for grass establishment. The government confirmed they are not providing fill dirt, all government permits will be provided before Notice to Proceed, and the bid due date is January 10th.

| PMIS #: | 229154 |
| Project Name / Description | Construct Fire Station |
| Amendment | P0005 |
| Question # | Question: | Date Rec'd | Answer: |
| 1 | Could you please help us locate the complete specifications for Wall (MP-1) and Wainscot (MP-2) as shown on Sheet #23 (Sub A2.01)? |
| We were able to find the roof specifications but are having trouble finding the details for the Wall and Wainscot. | 13-Sep | This is in Specification Section 13 3419 Metal Building Systems part 2.4. | |
| 2 | FILL DIRT |
Additionally, during the site visit on September 24, CRANK Representative Eric Lien noted that there was mention of fill dirt being provided by Big Cypress for this project. Given our expectation of a 24/7 pump requirement to manage water on-site during construction, it would be extremely helpful to confirm the provision of fill dirt so we can better control our costs.
If the fill dirt will indeed be supplied, could you please provide this confirmation in writing? Alternatively, would it be necessary to administer an amendment for this? 14-Oct NPS is not furnishing any fill dirt for the BICY project.
| 3 | Will the Government provide the sign in sheets for all site visits that have occurred for this project? | 24-Oct | The sign in sheet for Site Visit #1 was uploaded to the solicitation at Sam.gov on 9/26/24. The sign in sheet for the second site visit will also be uploaded. |
