About this file

This technical specification covers glazed decorative metal railings to be installed at the First Bank building undergoing rehabilitation in Independence National Historical Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The scope of work includes fabricating and installing new glass guardrails and curved frameless glass guardrails at window openings. Submittals such as shop drawings, product data and delegated design calculations are required prior to fabrication and installation of the railings. Materials specified include laminated tempered glass, aluminum, bronze and stainless steel anchors. The railings must meet structural performance requirements to withstand gravity and other loads. Proper fabrication, installation, cleaning and protection methods are also outlined.
