About this file
This document is a technical specification for roller window shades for a federal construction project to rehabilitate the interior and exterior of First Bank in Independence National Historical Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It requires the provision of both manually operated and sensor-activated motorized roller shades, with specifications for materials, fabrication, installation and warranties. Manually operated shades must be semi-translucent or blackout styles with aluminum components and ball chain controls. Motorized shades use a solar-powered wireless sensor and programmable controller with override capabilities. Installation will include surface-mounted and recessed options with aluminum trim and enclosure pieces. The contractor must provide product data, shop drawings, samples and maintenance documentation for approval and must install shades according to manufacturer instructions and replace any that cannot be repaired before substantial completion.
