About this file
This document is a specification section outlining requirements for resin matrix terrazzo flooring installation as part of a federal contract opportunity to rehabilitate the interior and exterior of the First Bank building in Independence National Historical Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The specification requires new thin-set epoxy terrazzo flooring over concrete slab substrates in a two-color scheme as indicated on the drawings, leveling of existing concrete floor slabs, installation of a moisture-resistant membrane on first floor concrete substrates, and precast epoxy terrazzo stair treads with non-skid inserts. It establishes performance criteria for the terrazzo materials and installation methods and refers to appropriate industry standards. Submittal requirements include shop drawings, product data, color samples, and moisture testing reports. The project is to be awarded and administered by the National Park Service under solicitation number 140P2023R0002.
