About this file

This document package includes specifications for reproduction wood windows and exterior aluminum storm windows for the rehabilitation of exterior systems at the Main Immigration Building at the Statue of Liberty National Monument and Ellis Island in New York. The specifications cover wood window and storm window materials, performance requirements, submittal requirements, fabrication, installation procedures, quality control testing, and warranties. Key products required include reproduction wood windows made of Accoya wood and aluminum storm windows. The windows must match existing profiles and designs. Submittals are due, mockups will be built and tested, and field quality control testing will evaluate air infiltration, water resistance, and structural load performance. The contractor must have extensive experience with comparable historic window reproduction projects. Warranties cover various window components for periods of 5 to 50 years from substantial completion.
