About this file
This is a Supplementary General Conditions document for Bid No. BVB 415-26, issued by the City of Amarillo, Texas, for the Osage Water Treatment Plant Settling Basin Repairs Phase 2 – West Basin project. The document modifies standard contract terms and conditions to govern the construction work. Key modifications include changes to the definition of working days to include weekends and holidays, requirements for the contractor's superintendent to be present at all times during work performance, submission of an initial work progress schedule at the pre-construction conference with monthly updates required with pay requests, and provisions that estimated quantities in the contract documents are approximate with actual work amounts potentially differing from estimates. The contractor is required to provide written responses to new price requests within fifteen calendar days of receipt.
Additional modifications address contract administration procedures, including the elimination of weather day considerations in pay estimates, availability of contract documents in electronic format only with contractors responsible for printing hard copies, and deletion of specific insurance and bonding requirements from the original general conditions. The document clarifies that conflicts between the Uniform General Conditions and these Special Conditions are resolved in favor of the Special Conditions, establishing the framework for competitive bidding and project execution for the settling basin repair work at the municipal water treatment facility.
