About this file
This document is a technical specification section (Section 01 77 00) for Closeout Procedures for the Vaults 60, 87 & ET Structural Repair and Grating Replacement project by KUB (Knoxville Utilities Board). The specification outlines the comprehensive administrative and documentation processes required to formally close out the construction contract. Key procedures include maintaining accurate record documents, conducting substantial completion inspections, performing final cleaning, executing final inspections, and submitting the final application for payment. The document details the workflow for contract closeout, including steps such as requesting substantial completion, performing joint inspections, completing punch list items, compiling closeout documentation, and obtaining final payment.
The specification provides detailed requirements for the contractor's responsibilities during the project's final stages, including submitting informational documents like evidence of compliance, record documents, special bonds and guarantees, and a final statement of accounting. It establishes specific protocols for document maintenance, such as using color-coded pencils to mark changes on drawings, recording dimensional and location information for underground facilities, and tracking modifications through change orders. The document also mandates a warranty close-out inspection to be conducted 60 days before the end of the 1-year warranty period, ensuring any necessary repairs are identified and completed before warranty expiration.
