About this file
This document is a Quality Control specification section (Section 01 45 00) for the Vaults 60, 87 & ET Structural Repair and Grating Replacement project by KUB (Knoxville Utilities Board). The specification outlines administrative and procedural requirements for evaluating completed construction activities to ensure conformance with contract requirements. It details the responsibilities of the Contractor in maintaining quality control, including employing an independent licensed testing laboratory, performing specified inspections and tests, and ensuring all work meets the contract documents' standards.
The specification emphasizes the Contractor's obligations to verify testing procedures, calibrate equipment, document test results, and use accredited testing laboratories for materials like soils, concrete, asphalt, and steel. The Owner retains the right to conduct quality assurance inspections, though these do not relieve the Contractor of responsibility for work quality. The document also outlines the completion inspection process, including developing a punchlist of non-conforming items, making corrections, and conducting a follow-up inspection to confirm all deficiencies have been addressed within the specified project completion timeframe.
