About this file

This document is a technical specification section (Section 01 14 33) for Work in Rights-of-Way for the Vaults 60, 87 & ET Structural Repair and Grating Replacement project, prepared by KUB (Knoxville Utilities Board). The document provides detailed guidelines and requirements for construction activities within rights-of-way and easements, covering aspects such as property access, utility protection, landscaping preservation, and site restoration. The specification outlines comprehensive protocols for contractors to follow during construction, including restrictions on tree removal, maintenance of existing infrastructure, traffic management, and property owner considerations.

The specification emphasizes the contractor's responsibilities for minimizing disruption to property owners and the public, with specific requirements such as maintaining continuous access for livestock, protecting existing utilities, preventing damage to landscaping, and ensuring that no residence or business is cut off from vehicular traffic for more than 4 hours without special arrangements. The document also mandates careful documentation, including photographing easements within 24 hours of beginning work, restoring surfaces and structures to their original or better condition, and promptly addressing any damage claims within 30 days. These detailed instructions aim to ensure systematic, considerate, and environmentally responsible construction practices within the project's designated work areas.
