About this file
This document is Addendum No. 1 for an Invitation to Bid (ITB) issued by the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) for the Hunter Creek Maintenance Station Sander Storage Building project. The addendum, dated 03/10/2025, provides clarifications and answers to questions raised during a mandatory pre-bid meeting, with the bid closing date set for 03/19/2025 at 11:30 AM. Key modifications include confirming a 6-inch minimum depth of crushed rock between footings and removing a previously noted portal frame from the contract. The addendum addresses specific technical details such as excavated material removal and the condition of existing roof panels.
The document outlines that ODOT will handle excavation material removal by positioning a dump truck on-site for direct loading, and regarding existing roof panels, bidders should assume they are in good condition, with any discovered damage to be addressed during construction. The ITB number is S-73000-00012859, and the project buyer is Kayleen Warner, who can be contacted at Kayleen.warner@odot.oregon.gov or 503-910-9811. Bidders are instructed to acknowledge receipt of this addendum in the designated section of the ITB documents, with failure to do so potentially resulting in bid rejection.

This Addendum is hereby made an integral part of the ITB document. Bidder must be responsive to any requirements of this Addendum as if the requirements were set forth in the ITB. Acknowledge receipt of this Addendum by indicating its number in the spaces provided ITB Section H – Addenda Acknowledgement. Failure to do so may result in Bid rejection. THE PURPOSE OF THIS ADDENDUM IS TO:
Correct language in the Question and Answer #1 document and provide answers to questions raised at the mandatory pre-bid meeting.
Q1: C2/C102 diagrammatically shows crushed rock at different depths between footings. What is the minimum depth of crushed rock?
A1: 6” is the minimum depth of crushed rock. ODOT will issue an addendum in the near future reflecting this change to the plans. At this time no revised plans will be issued, however Bidders should make note of this change. Location of the crushed rock depth over the existing drainage pipe was discussed at the pre-bid meeting.
Q3: Sheet A101 at grid 1B indicates a portal frame if alternate #1 is to be implemented. Do we have a design on this portal frame? If not, is that to be purchased from your metal building supplier?
A3: The Portal Frame has been removed from the contract. ODOT will issue an addendum in the near future reflecting this change to the plans. At this time no revised plans will be issued, however Bidders should make note of this change. This topic was noted, and discussed, at the pre-bid meeting.
Questions and Answers from Mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting
Q1: How do we know if the existing roof panels are not damaged?
A1: At this point we do not know. They are banded on pallets and covered. Presume the panels are in good shape and if during construction we find they are not, we will address the situation.
Q2: How will removal of excavated materials be handled?
A2: ODOT will haul away any excavated materials. During excavation a dump truck will be situated to allow loading directly into it.
