UEI means Unique Entity ID, the SAM.gov-generated identifier used across federal award systems to identify organizations doing business with the federal government. Use it as the primary federal entity identifier for a vendor; it replaced DUNS for federal award identification.

- Do not use UEI as an award, opportunity, contract, or grant identifier.
