UNSPSC 73151600: Packaging services

UNSPSC 73151600 Packaging services is a Class code covering the storage, fulfillment, inventory management, and shipping of materials for state and local agencies, though the recent opportunities block shows little activity directly aligned with the code's nominal scope. The opportunities posted under this code span irrigation system installation, election equipment transportation, charter bus services, tourism collateral fulfillment, agricultural seed processing labor, and instant coffee packaging—a range that reflects tagging inconsistency rather than coherent packaging-services demand. The one solicitation genuinely aligned with the code's scope is the California Correctional Training and Rehabilitation Authority's IFB for backup instant coffee packaging services, which specifies packaging instant coffee into individual 1.5-gram packets at a minimum volume of 2,000 cases, performed at the contractor's facility during business hours with pickup and delivery of materials from the CALCTRA warehouse.

Recent activity spans California, Florida, Georgia, and Michigan, with no single jurisdiction appearing as a repeat buyer under this code. The California Correctional Training and Rehabilitation Authority issued an IFB (S15122601) for instant coffee packaging services with bids due June 10, 2026, requiring five years of prior packaging experience, references from the last three years, and a one-year contract term with renewal option beginning July 1, 2026. Visit St. Pete-Clearwater issued an Invitation to Quote (ITQ 260715) for convention and event fulfillment services—storage and shipping of tourism collateral—due July 30, 2026, with Pinellas County SBE preference and a mandatory local-vendor requirement. The code shows limited current procurement velocity; most opportunities posted between May and October 2026 fall outside the code's direct scope, signaling potential misclassification in submission or low filing frequency under this taxonomy class.
