About this opportunity
The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center (Owner) is seeking low voltage cabling contractors to provide all labor, equipment, and materials necessary to perform standardized low-voltage cabling services in compliance with the Owner's Design Guidelines. The work will be divided into three main categories: Facility Asset Requests (FAR), Facilities Planning Design & Construction (FPD&C), and Moves, Adds and Changes (MAC). The Owner will select up to four contractors to perform the FAR and MAC work, with projects under $5,000 utilizing a pre-determined fee schedule, projects between $5,000 and $10,000 bid out via email, and projects over $10,000 bid using the Owner's SciQuest tool. The FPD&C work will be competitively bid by the General Contractor contracted by the Owner. Contractors will be evaluated monthly, and scores below certain thresholds may result in the contractor being placed on probation or the contract being abrogated. The pre-bid conference was held on August 10, 2023, and the RFP is scheduled to close on September 1, 2023, at 5:00 PM CST.
The RFP is open to contractors in several Texas jurisdictions, including Harris County and the City of Houston. The Owner has Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) Subcontracting Plan requirements, and contractors that do not take any exceptions to the Riders will receive the full 15% of the RFP score allocated to this section. The contract term and any renewal options are not specified, but the current contracts are expiring soon. The Owner reserves the right to have up to four different contractors perform the FAR work, and the contract may have a significant value, though an exact budget range is not provided.
