About this opportunity
The City of Dawsonville Mayor & City Council is soliciting sealed bids for roadway rehabilitation on 0.4 miles of numerous city roadways—milling, resurfacing, and striping—under ITB #26-02, with bids due July 22, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at City Hall.
The scope requires furnishing all labor, material, and equipment for variable-depth milling (performed in advance of patching where both are required) and resurfacing operations. Contractors are encouraged to visit project sites prior to bid submittal. The contract term is four weeks for project completion. Questions must be submitted in writing to Jacob Hughes, P.E. at LJA (jahughes@lja.com); responses will be issued as addenda. Bidding documents are available from Jacob Hughes at the same contact.
A 5% bid bond is required from all bidders. The awarded contractor must provide a Payment and Performance Bond equal to 100% of the contract value. Liquidated damages of $500 per available day apply for failure to pave any reclaimed (FDR) road within seven days of the accepted cure date, determined when the geotechnical engineering consultant confirms average compressive strength of 300 PSI. Per diem penalties are deducted from contractor payments for each calendar day work remains incomplete beyond the four-week period, per Section 108 of the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) Standard Specifications. Rain days are excluded from the seven-day paving window.
No specific contract value, incumbent, or evaluation criteria are stated in the source.
