About this opportunity

The Turner County Board of Education is seeking quotes for a targeted security enhancement project involving fail safe door locks for Turner County Elementary School. The procurement focuses on acquiring and installing mechanical fail safe locks and lock boxes for 148 interior doors, specifically designed to augment existing lockdown procedures without requiring technological or power infrastructure. Vendors must provide comprehensive services including lock assembly, installation, and complete trash removal post-installation. The Request for Quotes (RFQ) requires mechanical locks with no technological dependencies, emphasizing simplistic yet effective security mechanisms. Quotes must be submitted electronically to ben.lavender@turner.k12.ga.us by noon on February 06, 2025, with potential site surveys available through coordination with Operations Director Ben Lavender. The Board expressly reserves the right to accept or reject any submitted bid regardless of quoted amount, indicating flexible evaluation criteria. Interested vendors are encouraged to contact Ben Lavender to schedule preliminary site surveys and gather additional project details.

No specific set-aside designations, disadvantaged enterprise requirements, or vendor restrictions were explicitly outlined in the procurement documents. The RFQ does not mention incumbent vendors, existing technological infrastructure, or precise budget constraints for the project. While the scope involves 148 door locks, no specific estimated contract value was provided in the available documentation. The procurement appears to be a straightforward, one-time installation project focused on enhancing school security through mechanical locking mechanisms. Potential respondents should be prepared to provide comprehensive quotes that include not just the physical locks, but also complete installation services and post-installation cleanup. The lack of detailed financial parameters suggests vendors should be prepared to offer competitive pricing while meeting the specific mechanical lock requirements outlined in the solicitation.
