About this opportunity
The State of Florida, specifically the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) through Leon County, is seeking a contractor for road repair work at Ichetucknee Springs State Park via Bid No. BDC25-24/25. The procurement encompasses comprehensive road and parking lot repair across multiple park sections, with a base bid focusing on the North-side drainage, parking lot, and pavement repair, and three additional alternates for repairs on the South, West, and East side roads and parking areas. Key deliverables include 1.5" asphalt milling, base and subgrade work, parking lot restriping, bumper stop replacement, and associated drainage improvements. Contractors must perform density testing in accordance with FDOT Standard Specifications sections 120, 200, and 300, and adhere to the project's geotechnical report guidelines. The bid was posted on October 25, 2024, with proposals due by November 5, 2024, and must be submitted to Laurinda Micheels, Contracts Specialist, at the Bureau of Design and Construction in Tallahassee.
The solicitation does not explicitly mention set-aside designations or specific restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises. Potential bidders will need to demonstrate technical capability in road repair, asphalt milling, base reconstruction, and drainage infrastructure work. While specific budget ranges are not disclosed in the addendum, the multi-phase approach with base bid and three alternates suggests potential project scalability and flexibility in funding. The project requires contractors to have expertise in state park infrastructure rehabilitation, familiarity with FDOT specifications, and the ability to perform precise road and parking lot reconstruction. Bidders must also be prepared to conduct comprehensive density testing and work within the parameters of the provided geotechnical report. Interested contractors will need to carefully review the full contract documents and submit a signed acknowledgment of the addendum with their bid package.
