The Simplified Acquisition of Base Engineering Requirements (SABER) contract, at Davis-Monthan AFB AZ, is a firm-fixed price indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) type contract. It will include a wide range of individual construction tasks which include carpentry, road and parking lot repair, roofing, excavating, interior and exterior electrical, steam fittings, plumbing, sheet metal, painting, demolition, concrete masonry and welding. The government awarded one 8(a) contract, which consists of one (1) base year with four (4) one-year options at the government’s option. The guaranteed minimum will be $5,000.00 with an estimated maximum of $15,000,000.00 per year for an estimated total of $75,000,000.00 for the base year and four option years. Significant subcontracting activity is expected under the SABER contract. The successful contractor was selected using Performance/Price Trade-off (PPT) procedures resulting in the Best Value to the government. The applicable North American Industry Classification Code for this solicitation is 236220.

Added: December 14, 2007 Modified: January 25, 2008Track Changes The Simplified Acquisition of Base Engineering Requirements (SABER) contract, at Davis-Monthan AFB AZ, will be a firm-fixed price indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) type contract. It will include a wide range of individual construction tasks which include carpentry, road and parking lot repair, roofing, excavating, interior and exterior electrical, steam fittings, plumbing, sheet metal, painting, demolition, concrete masonry and welding. The successful contractor will be required to furnish all materials, equipment and personnel necessary to design, manage and accomplish individual projects and maintain a management/project office at Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ to receive delivery orders and provide other management services related to accomplishing individual projects. The government anticipates awarding one 8(a) contract, which will consist of one (1) base year with four (4) one-year options at the government?s option. The guaranteed minimum will be $500,000.00 with an estimated maximum of $15,000,000.00 per year for an estimated total of $75,000,000.00 for the base year and four option years. Significant subcontracting activity is expected under the SABER contract. The successful contractor will be selected using Performance/Price Trade-off (PPT) procedures resulting in the Best Value to the government. The solicitation will be issued electronically on Federal Business Opportunities FEDBIZOPS Internet site only, on or about 15 Feb 2008. No paper copies of the solicitations will be available. You must register on the site in order to receive notification of changes to the solicitation. Please submit any questions regarding the solicitation via e-mail to Jerry Sauder, jerry.sauder@dm.af.mil or in writing at the pre-proposal conference, which will be scheduled approximately 14 days after the solicitation release date. NOTE: Any prospective contractor must be registered in the Central Contract Registration (CCR) in order to be eligible for award. Registration requires applicants to have a DUNS number. Registering may take up to three (3) weeks to process. Recommend registering immediately in order to be eligible for timely award.
