About this opportunity
Based on the provided federal contract opportunity, here is a summary:
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Health Administration is planning a nationwide procurement for infusion pump units across VHA facilities. The contract is an Intent to Bundle Requirements, with no specific set-aside for small businesses. The VA intends to consolidate infusion pump requirements under solicitation number 36C24125R0070, with an anticipated Request for Proposal (RFP) release in May 2025 and a planned contract award on September 30, 2025.
The procurement will cover multiple types of infusion pump equipment, including large volume infusion pumps, syringe pumps, patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) pumps, and associated hardware, software, and professional services. Market research conducted in July and September 2024 indicated limited small business capabilities for meeting the requirement.
The VA has determined that consolidating the procurement would not negatively impact small businesses and would enable more efficient equipment replacement. The solicitation will be unrestricted, using NAICS code 339112 with a small business size standard of 1,000 employees. The evaluation will follow FAR 15 procedures, with non-price factors considered more significant than price.
The consolidation meets Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 7.107 requirements, with the VA concluding that the benefits of a consolidated acquisition would exceed alternative approaches. The opportunity will be available for public review seven days prior to the RFP release.
