About this opportunity
The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC), C3BM Directorate at Wright Patterson Force Base, Ohio is conducting a Request for Information (RFI) on low-cost, affordable Fire Control Radar systems with responses due by August 14, 2026. This is market research only; the RFI does not constitute a Request for Proposal, promise to issue one, or commitment to contract, and the Air Force will not accept unsolicited proposals at this time.
The Government seeks vendor capability information on ground-based fire control radar systems with a target unit cost objective under $10 million per system. Required capabilities include 360-degree coverage, simultaneous engagement of multiple targets using two or more distinct kinetic effector types against cruise missiles and Unmanned Aircraft Systems (Groups 1–5), detection and tracking ranges by target type, and performance in contested environments. Acceptable designs include rotating radar systems with stop-and-stare capability and active electronically scanned array (AESA) systems, though vendors must address lifecycle costs, reliability, maintainability, and sustainment impacts. The Government prefers the FCR separate from the effector but will consider alternative integration approaches with trade-off analysis. Ballistic missile defense capabilities are not being sought at this time.
Responses are limited to ten pages maximum (excluding cover page), formatted as PDF with one-inch margins and Times New Roman 12-point font, classified UNCLASSIFIED. Respondents must provide company information including name, UEI, CAGE code, U.S./foreign ownership status, and facility clearance level. Anticipated NAICS code is 334511. Submit responses to Primary Contracting Officer Heather Bakker (heather.bakker.1@us.af.mil) or Secondary CO Chris Core (christopher.core@us.af.mil). All interested contractors must be registered in SAM. Amendments 0001 through 0003 published Government responses to vendor questions through July 29; Amendment 0004 extended the response deadline from August 7 to August 14, 2026.
