About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Integrated Service Network 2 is conducting market research through this Sources Sought Notice for electrical system inspection, testing, and maintenance services at two VA healthcare facilities in New York City - the Brooklyn and St. Albans locations. The scope includes comprehensive maintenance of 15 generators, electrical equipment, and automatic transfer switches across multiple buildings, with requirements for annual load bank testing, fuel quality analysis, and infrared scanning. Contractors must possess NETA or NICET certification and demonstrate minimum five years of experience in healthcare electrical systems maintenance. Interested parties must provide company details, capability statements, examples of similar work, SAM UEID numbers, socio-economic certifications, and specific experience information including proximity to service sites and number of certified technicians. This procurement falls under NAICS code 238210 with a size standard of $19.0 million and currently has no set-aside designation, though the VA is evaluating potential set-asides for various socio-economic categories including service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses, veteran-owned small businesses, women-owned small businesses, HUBZone, 8(a), and small businesses. The contract structure includes a base period from November 1, 2025, to October 31, 2026, with four potential one-year option periods extending through October 31, 2030, creating a possible five-year total contract duration. The work encompasses maintenance across multiple building locations with detailed electrical infrastructure including transformers, switchboards, automatic transfer switches, distribution boards, and fire pump panels from major manufacturers such as Westinghouse, General Electric, and Cutler-Hammer. No incumbent contractor information was provided in the documentation, and no specific contract value estimates were disclosed beyond the NAICS size standard threshold.
