About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Integrated Service Network 22 has modified existing Indefinite Delivery Contract 36C26226D0057 to add Nuclear Medicine teleradiology interpretation services on a limited-source basis, with an effective modification date of July 15, 2026 and an immediate requirement value of $35,325.

The justification rests on the unique characteristics of the incumbent contractor: it has already established credentialing, secure connectivity, reporting workflows, and integration with VA imaging systems. Awarding the services to another contractor would require duplicative credentialing, onboarding, systems integration, and workflow implementation, creating operational risk during the critical coverage period. The immediate requirement is temporary Nuclear Medicine interpretation coverage for the Phoenix VA Health Care System starting July 15, 2026 through August 19, 2026, driven by the temporary unavailability of a VA-employed Nuclear Medicine Radiologist. The modification adds Nuclear Medicine interpretation services as an available contract service for both Phoenix VA Health Care System and Northern Arizona VA Health Care System, with individual task orders determining actual service ordering.

Prior market research conducted in support of the original IDC award identified capable commercial teleradiology vendors; no additional market research was conducted for this modification action. The VA plans to pursue a Veterans Integrated Service Network-wide competitive acquisition strategy for long-term teleradiology services in the future, with acquisition planning and requirements development underway to provide vendors sufficient lead time for credentialing and technical onboarding. Place of performance includes the Phoenix and Northern Arizona VA Health Care Systems. The Network Contracting Office 22 executed the modification under Acquisition Plan Action ID 36C262-26-AP-7506.
