PROJECT FUNDING
Project is funded 35% Inland Waterways Trust Fund (IWTF) and 65% Federal Appropriations. IWTF revenues generated from tax on marine diesel fuel.
One of highest priority construction project for IWTF funding.
Like many inland navigation projects, Kentucky Lock is not currently eligible for the President’s Budget due to Benefit- Cost Ratio requirements. Project has received efficient annual funding through USACE workplans from FY15 to present.
Downstream Lock Monoliths - contract award anticipated for September 2021
(FY21).
Anticipate exercising all Options in FY22 and FY23.

4. Completed Upstream Monoliths – observe monoliths, upstream bulkhead slots, and on-going excavation.
5. Existing Lock Land Wall – stopping to observe existing instrumentation and on-going excavation.
6. DS Cofferdam – stopping to observe existing instrumentation, cofferdam flooding structure, and on-going excavation.
7. Return to resident office by way of shared Haul Road, observe landside perspective of the work area.
