SECTION 102800 - TOILET AND BATH ACCESSORIES

PART 1 - GENERAL

1.01 SUMMARY:

A. This Section includes toilet and bath accessories for toilet areas, locker areas, and janitor areas.

B. Related Work Specified Elsewhere:

1. Toilet Compartments: SECTION 102113.

1.02 REFERENCES:

A. American National Standards Institute (ANSI):

1. A117.1 - Specifications for Making Buildings and Facilities Accessible to, and Usable by, the Physically Handicapped.

2. Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA):

a. Accessibility Guidelines (AG).

1.03 SUBMITTALS:

A. Submit as specified in DIVISION 1.

B. Includes, but not limited to, the following:

1. Product data and specifications.

2. Installation instructions and setting drawings for installation of anchorage devices and cutout requirements to other Work.

3. Samples: Full size Sample of following accessories may be required for review of design and operation. Acceptable Samples will be returned and may be used in the Work.

1.04 QUALITY ASSURANCE:

A. Furnish inserts and anchoring devices which must be set in concrete or built into masonry.

Coordinate delivery with other Work to avoid delay.

B. Coordinate accessory locations with other Work to avoid interference and to assure proper operation and servicing of accessory units.

C. Provide products of same manufacturer for each type of unit and for units exposed in same areas.

1.05 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING:

A. Store products in original packaging and protect from damage or corrosion.

B. Store products in a manner to prevent warping.

PART 2 - PRODUCTS

2.01 ACCEPTABLE MANUFACTURERS:

A. Subject to compliance with requirements, provide products of one of the following:

1. American Specialties, Inc.

2. A&J Washroom Accessories.

3. Bobrick Washroom Equipment, Inc. (Bobrick).

4. Bradley Corporation.

5. McKinney/Parker, Essex Industries, Inc.

6. Watrous, Inc.

2.02 MIRRORS:

A. Bobrick Model B-290 series, size as indicated.

B. Type 304 minimum 20-gauge stainless steel frame, satin finish.

C. No. 1 quality, 1/4-inch polished float/plate glass mirror with electrolytically copper-plated back. Guaranteed against silver spoilage for 15-year minimum.

D. Galvanized steel back.

E. Concealed mounting system.

2.03 PAPER TOWEL DISPENSER AND WASTE RECEPTACLE:

A. Bobrick Model B-360, recessed with spacing collar for 8-inch-deep wall.

B. Type 304 22-gauge stainless steel cabinet, satin finish.

C. Stainless steel piano hinges full length of hinged compartments.

D. Removable stainless steel waste container.

E. Capacity: 600 C-fold, 800 multifold, or 1,100 single-fold paper towels.

F. Tumbler lockset with key.

2.04 WASTE RECEPTACLE:

A. Bobrick Model B-275, surface-mounted.

B. Type 304 22-gauge stainless steel cabinet, satin finish.

C. Nominal 21-gallon capacity.

D. Removable vinyl liner.

2.05 SOAP DISHES:

A. Bobrick Model B-6807, surface-mounted.

B. Type 304 stainless steel body, satin finish.

C. Concealed anchor plate mounting.

2.06 TOILET TISSUE DISPENSERS WITH ROLL TISSUE:

A. Bobrick Model B-288, surface-mounted.

B. Two-roll capacity, standard toilet tissue.

C. Type 304 stainless steel body, satin finish.

D. Tumbler lockset with key.

2.07 ROBE HOOKS:

A. Bobrick Model B-6717, single 2-inch projection from wall.

B. Type 304 stainless steel hook, satin finish.

C. Concealed anchor plate mounting.

2.08 FEMININE NAPKIN DISPOSAL:

A. Bobrick Model B-270, surface-mounted.

B. Type 304 22-gauge stainless steel cabinet, satin finish.

C. Full length stainless steel piano hinge.

D. Tumbler lock.

2.09 SHOWER CURTAIN ROD AND CURTAIN:

A. Bobrick Model B-6047 curtain rod with Series 204-2 (42-inch-wide) curtain.

B. Type 304 stainless steel rod, satin finish, extra heavy-duty, 18-gauge, 1-1/4-inch diameter.

C. Provide Bobrick 204-1, Type 304 stainless steel shower curtain hooks as required.

D. Provide opaque, matte-white vinyl curtain, 0.008-inch thickness, with heat-sealed, corrosion-resistant grommets spaced every 6 inches through top hem, 42" width x 72" height.

2.10 MOP AND BROOM HOLDER - UTILITY SHELF:

A. Bobrick Model B-224.

B. Combination unit of stainless steel, satin finish, 42-inch length.

C. Provide with following features:

1. Eight-inch-deep shelf.

2. Antislip, spring-loaded, rubber mop and broom holders, and rag hooks. Provide with 6 hooks and 6 holders.

3. Drying rod below shelf for wet rags.

2.11 SOAP DISPENSER:

A. Bobrick Model B-822 or B-2111.

2.12 FASTENERS:

A. Provide anchors, bolts, and other fasteners as required for complete installation and suitable for application intended.

B. Screws, bolts, and other devices shall be same material as accessory unit, or of galvanized steel where concealed.

2.13 FABRICATION:

A. Only an unobtrusive stamped logo of manufacturer is permitted on exposed face of toilet or bath accessory units. On either interior surface not exposed to view or back surface, provide additional identification by means of either a printed waterproof label or a stamped nameplate, indicating manufacturer's name and product model number.

PART 3 - EXECUTION

3.01 INSTALLATION:

A. Install anchors, bolts, and other necessary fasteners for attachment of unit to wall or partition.

B. Mount all units to concealed anchor plates or wall and anchor securely.

C. Adjust all units for proper operation.

D. Deliver keys, parts lists, and maintenance instruction sheets to Owner.

3.02 LOCATION:

A. Except for items designated for handicapped/disabled persons, install units at location and height indicated or at the following mounting height where not indicated:

1. Mirrors: 6'-0" above floor to top of item.

2. Toilet Tissue Dispensers: 2'-11" above floor to horizontal centerline of dispenser roll and

6 inches in front of water closet bowl to vertical centerline.

3. Robe Hooks, Towel Pins: 5'-0" above floor to centerline of item.

3.03 LOCATION:

A. Install units indicated for handicapped/disabled persons at the height indicated or in accordance with ANSI A117.1, ADA, and at the following mounting height where not indicated:

1. Mirrors: 3'-4" to bottom of mirror.

2. Paper Towel Dispenser: 3'-4" above floor to centerline of item.

3. Waste Receptacle: 2'-8" above floor to top of item.

4. Grab Bars: 2'-9" to 3'-0" above and parallel to the floor. Back end shall be positioned 1'-0" maximum from back wall.

5. Napkin Disposal (B-270): 2'-10" above the floor to the centerline of item.

6. Toilet Tissue Dispensers: 2'-0" above floor to horizontal centerline of lower dispenser roll and 6 inches in front of water closet bowl to vertical centerline.

3.04 CLEANING:

A. After installation, remove all protective films and labels. Clean and polish all exposed surfaces.

B. Protect all accessories from damage.
