Q&A Letter

Subject: Clarification on Liquid Storage and Handling Procedures

We would like to address several questions regarding the storage and handling of liquids during the upcoming internal tank inspection. Please find the answers to your queries below:

What is the Period of Performance for this work?

The Period of Performance is 183 days total. The physical work has to be completed NLT 30 June 2025. All other documentation will need to be completed by 30 September 2025

Will the liquid need to be temporarily stored prior to the facility taking it?

No, the contractor will have a tank that has been cleaned when they arrive for the internal inspection. There is no need for temporary storage.

Will the contractor need to pump the liquid, or will the facility have a vac truck for the contractor to pump into?

There will not be a need for the contractor to pump liquid out of the tank. The contractor’s only requirement is to ensure that any dirt or gravel is cleaned prior to closing the man doors to prevent contamination during inspection.

What specifically are the liquids (wash water/fuel mix) being moved into?

There will be no liquid for the contractor to move. The only liquid present in the tank during the internal inspection will be to soak up the sump of liquids. This liquid will be from tank condensation or residual water from tank rinsing.
