REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) #03

26 August 2021

5. Question: Is there a blast rating for the windows or doors for this project? Could not locate in the drawings or the specifications.

Answer 5: The only blast-related building component is exterior laminated glazing - an interlayer within the outer pane is used per project requirements. No other blast rating is required on doors or exterior opening frames.

6. Question: There are some hardware sets with the following remark in the hardware spec. "Doors, Frames and Hardware to comply with blast standards as determined by UFC 4- 010-01 and small/large missile impact approvals". When blast UFC 4-010-01 is mentioned on a project, additional information is needed to get a quote to include project PSF level or the standoff distance plus the charge weight in order for manufacturer to calculate the proper PSF level. Please advise if blast is needed on this project or only ballistic rated material

Answer 6: No blast rating is required on exterior building hardware. Ballistic rated requirements are in SECTION 08 34 02.

REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) #2

3. Question: Please advise if shifting the building 10'-0 from the existing building is a viable option. See attached drawing

Answer 3: Due to the buildings proximity to the ANG boundary the building cannot be shifted to the west.

4. Question: Question from Landscaping subcontractor….What is the installed size of the

(20) Pin Oak trees on the Small Arms Range job.

Answer 4: The pin oaks shall be 45 gallon/3" caliper.

REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) #1

1. Question regarding E-sheets and division 26 of the specifications.. See Amendment #01 to replace E.6 with E0.6-R1:

Question A: What size kVA cable is needed?

Answer: (3) 2 AWG AL, 15KV, 133% EPR, Type MV-105. Refer to details on revised sheet E0.6.

Question B: There is not a detail showing the pole hardware at the new dip pole. Please advise.

Answer: Refer to details on revised sheet E0.6.

Question C: Will 6” be needed on the bore for the primary, or will 4” be sufficient?

Answer: 4” is sufficient. Refer to details on revised sheet E0.6.

Question D: Do you want a spare conduit bored out to the pole?

Answer D: NO

2. Question: The small arms range equipment is specified in Section 11 67 23 of the specifications. Most suppliers advised that delivery in 90 to 120 calendar days with significant time required for installation and system testing. A period of performance of 365 calendar days is insufficient. We request the period of performance be increased to a minimum of 15 months or 450 days.

Answer 2: We are aware of the volatility of the construction market and related lead times;

we are monitoring the situation and how any changes may impact this project. We believe even with a 90-day delivery, the period of performance of 365 calendar days is obtainable. No changes in the PoP will be made during this bid process.
