Instructions for Vignette II:
Mission Rehearsal Exercise (MRE)
Type: Special rotations (Mission Rehearsal Exercise (MRE))
The Government reserves the right to re-define special rotations in order to meet unforeseen future training requirements. JRTC has the mission of conducting MREs to replicate theater-specific conditions a Brigade Combat Team (BCT) will encounter in a specific Area of Responsibility (AOR). Special rotations add requirements to standard rotations. The additions will be identified by the Government on a case by case basis (driven by FORSCOM training guidance and individual RTU training requirements) and may be in the form of additional role players, cultural role players, extended live fire exercises, additional fire markers and MILES support.
Dates: Designed based on a 21 calendar day training period to accommodate the addition of a Live Fire (LF) portion concurrent with the 14 day training period.
a. CRP Arrival/In-process (1 Jun 20xx)
b. STX Rehearsal (3 Jun 20xx)
c. STX Lanes (4 – 10 Jun 20xx) (12 hour support)
d. Box Reset (10 Jun 20xx @ 1700 – 11 Jun 20xx @ 0600)
e. D-Day (11 Jun 20xx @ 0600) (14 hour support)
f. TAC Freeze (16 Jun 20xx @ 1800)
g. Change of Mission (17 Jun 20xx)
h. CRP Depart (17 Jun 20xx)
Unit Size: For a standard Army Brigade Combat Team (6,500 PAX)
PAX size includes RTU, OPFOR and MSC personnel.
Scenario: MRE scenarios are designed to support preparation of RTU’s for immediate deployment to specific operational areas. These scenarios will focus on real world contingency missions, emerging Army force structures, and training requirements. MRE scenarios will replicate the anticipated political, religious, economic, social, and threat environment in the expected deployment region.
