About this file
This document includes a draft request for proposal and memorandum regarding asbestos testing at Brooke Army Medical Center facilities. The draft RFP seeks healthcare housekeeping services for five years, starting in December 2019 through November 2024, at Brooke Army Medical Center and multiple medical treatment facilities in the health service area of Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Services include hospital housekeeping, regulated medical waste handling and transport, solid waste collection, linen collection and distribution, and exterior building services such as window cleaning and snow removal across approximately 2.4 million square feet of facilities. Interested parties must provide comments on the draft performance work statement by November 30, 2018. The memorandum documents asbestos testing conducted from 2010 to 2015 at four buildings on the Brooke Army Medical Center campus constructed before 1980, with all samples from each building returning results of no asbestos detected.
