MDVL042061 – Repair Fire Suppression Systems in Bldgs 150, 151, and 160

RFI #4

1. Sheet 02F-601 shows an exisng 8” underground relief line from the fire pumps to the water storage tank. NFPA 20 requires that the relief line from a 2500 gpm pump to be 10” minimum. Will reusing the exisng 8” underground relief line be acceptable in lieu of the required 10” relief line?

The 8" size shown on the contract drawings (Sheet 02F-601) was taken directly from the exisng as-built drawing. However, it has been field verified that the exisng underground relief line from the fire pumps to the water storage tank is actually 12”.
