About this file
This requirements description and related federal contract opportunity document outline requirements for the redesign, qualification, and production of AN/ALQ-161A Power Supply Assemblies. Key details include redesigning the power supply to break it into multiple new National Stock Numbers to facilitate maintenance, developing four qualification units and production units in accordance with schedule, and assisting with integration and flight testing. The federal contract opportunity involves awarding multiple IDIQ contracts over ten years totaling $800 million to support power supplies ranging from low voltage to 20kVDC on military aircraft, including initial requirements for three power supply National Stock Numbers with estimated quantities over five pricing periods. The Air Force Materiel Command Lifecycle Management Center at Robins Air Force Base will conduct the source selection and award the contracts.

REQUIREMENTS DESCRIPTION
OBJECTIVE
This Requirements Description is for the redesign and qualification of the AN/ALQ-161A Power Supply Assembly, NSN 6130-01-269-3624EW, P/N: 442529-6. The effort will be to evaluate current specifications, build functional, flight-worthy prototypes, test, and certify a qualified manufacturer of the ALQ-161A Power Supply Assembly. The detailed Scope of Work is contained in Attachment 1 and is entitled “Statement of Work for PS2 Multi Award Contract”.
The power supply accounts for one half of an RF transmitter LRU. In addition to modernization and resolution of obsolescence, a goal of this redesign is to break the power supply into multiple new NSNs to facilitate maintenance; therefore, it is requested that design proposals maximize modularity and ease of maintenance.
