1.0 PROJECT BACKGROUND

Located 28 miles southeast of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Pecos National Historical Park (PECO), was geographically known to be the “gateway” between the plains and the Rio Grande Valley. First a state monument in 1935, it was made Pecos National Monument in 1965, and greatly enlarged and renamed Pecos National Historical Park in 1990.

Exhibitions have been designed for two separate facilities at Pecos National Historic Park, The E.E.
