About this file
This memorandum from the Department of Veterans Affairs outlines brand name or equal products required for project number 541-18-503 to expand the TCU and Palliative Care unit at a VA medical center. Key products specified include luxury vinyl tile, rubber base and transitions, paint, acoustic ceiling tiles, countertops, tiles, wall protection, casework, doors and hardware. Acceptable equals must match the specified brands in terms of appearance, composition, performance characteristics, and compatibility with the overall design palette. Sole source items like door locks, security systems, fire alarms, and nurse call equipment require justification for specifying a single manufacturer. The memorandum provides contact information for questions and establishes the salient criteria that equal products must meet for consideration on the renovation project.
