About this file
This document is a Pre-Bid Request for Information (RFI) log for project WWYK250031-Repair B62528, dated 5/1/2025. The RFI addresses multiple technical clarifications for a facility repair project, including questions about overhead door operation, steel structure corrosion repair, utility line relocation, tank removal, chemical feed line protection, piping replacement, and control system integration. Key government responses include: confirming the overhead door will be manually operated, estimating 5,000 SF of steel members requiring corrosion repair, noting electrical overhead lines will be completed in Mid-Nov 2025, acknowledging building demolition may be needed to remove a 4,000-gallon tank, specifying freeze protection requirements for exterior lines only, and clarifying that direct digital controls will include gas monitoring system and exhaust fan integration. The RFI provides detailed technical guidance to potential bidders to ensure precise understanding of project specifications.

Date: RFI No. QUESTION GOVERNMENT RESPONSE
5/1/2025
SOW Para. 4.2.5 states to install a manually operated insulated coiling overhead door. Para. 4.10.4 states to provide power to the new overhead door. Is the overhead door supposed to be a manual door or motor operated?
The Over head door shall be manually operated: Para 4.10.4 shall be deleted from SOW.
5/1/2025
SOW Para. 4.4.1 states to repair all significant rust or corrosion on the steel structure including main frame members, columns, beams, purlins, girts, metal panels, fasteners, or miscellaneous steel items. With this being a competitively bid process there is no way to quantify the corrosion repair prior to award. Can approximate quantities be provided in order for an adequate review of proposals? Will any additional corrosion repair be treated as an Unforeseen Site Condition?
Rough estimate is 5,000 SF of steel members. The DOR will determine the exact quantity. Suggest providing a unit price for this item. Anything beyond this would be unforseen.
5/1/2025
SOW Para. 4.9.3 refers to OG&E relocating overhead distribution lines to underground and removing two (2) utility poles. This will affect the schedule and work related to the structural repairs in SOW Para. 4.4.3 and 4.4.4. Will this be completed prior to award?
Pending no unforseen site conditions: Electrical overhead electrical lines is scheduled to be completed in Mid-Nov 2025.
5/1/2025
How does the government intend the existing 4,000 gallon tank to be physically removed from the building and the new tank brought into the building, considering space limitations (concrete containment walls/overhead door dimensions)?
The government understands that some amount of building demolition will be required to remove the tank
5/1/2025
The design narrative calls for providing freeze protection to chemical feed lines. Please confirm this includes all chemical feed piping within the building and advise the required pipe insulation material type and thickness?
The interior of the building is going to be conditioned, so only the exterior lines require freeze protection.
5/1/2025
Are the 3/4" pvc lines that are labeled GL826 & NAOH that exit the NW corner of the building to underground to be replaced? If so, to what point are they to be replaced?
This piping is existing to remain. Only the fill and containment piping piping are to be replaced.
5/1/2025
Are the 3/4" pvc lines that are labeled GL826 & NAOH that exit the NW corner of the building to receive freeze protection?
Are they to receive freeze protection within the building only, or is the underground portion of this piping to also receive freeze protection?
This piping is outside the scope of this project and does not require freeze protection.
5/1/2025
The design narrative states that the direct digital controls will be tied into the base wide Honeywell DDC system. Please confirm this is referring to the gas monitoring system only.
The direct digital controls shall include the gas monitoring system and the associated exhaust fan with start/stop & status.
5/1/2025
Does heat trace or any other electrical components installed within the building need to be explosion proof? If so, to what classification?
The environment is not explosive; no hazardous classfication(s), necessary.
