About this file
This document is a Request for Information (RFI) for Repair B62528 (Round 2) containing six technical clarification questions and corresponding government responses. Key technical details include: (1) insulation requirements modified to R-20 instead of R-28 for horizontal surfaces, with manufacturer confirmation that lower density spray-on insulation can achieve thermal values without expensive mechanical support, (2) confirmation that an additional exit is not required for this project, (3) verification that seal protectant need not be acid-resistant, (4) specification that exhaust fan will only activate upon leak detection, and (5) confirmation of network availability to the building. The final question regarding changes from a previously cancelled project was answered with "Nothing has changed" by the government representative. The document is digitally signed by government personnel on November 14, 2025, indicating an ongoing procurement process for a facility repair project.

Repair B62528 (Round 2) RFI
1. (Design Narrative 4.1.2) Spray applied glass fiber insulation cannot achieve a R-28 on horizontal surfaces without additional support at a greatly increased cost. Please confirm that R-28 is the desired/required value for the roof.
Government Response: R-20 will be acceptable. Refer to attached manufacturer pdf that addresses this subject on page 2 of 6. Manufacturer states that “ Monoglass® Spray-On is installed to a lower density than competitive products thereby reducing installed weight. As a result, high thermal values R-20/R.S.I. 3.5 on horizontal surfaces … can be achieved without expensive mechanical support or multi-layer applications.”
2. (Design Narrative 8.1.3,4) The common path of travel exceeds the allowable distance.
Please confirm that an additional exit, or provisions for the future exit is not part of this project.
Government Response: An additional exit is not a requirement in this project.
Per Design Narrative 8.1.3 Arrangement of Means of Egress: Providing another door to reduce the travel path to within the allowed distance should be included in another project.
3. (Design Narrative 4.1.4 e) Will the seal protectant used on the insulation need to be acid resistant?
Government Response: No it will not be required.
4. Will the Exhaust fan be on 24/7 or activated only when a leak is detected in the room?
Government Response: Exhaust fan energizes upon leak detection only.
5. Is there network availability to the building if not will the government provide a network drop?
Government Response: Yes there is network availability to the building. - LS
6. What has changed on this project and the last one that was cancelled? There is nothing apparent in the documentation provided.
Government Response: Nothing has changed - LS
