About this file
The document is a Pre-Award FMVSS Compliance Certification required by the Federal Transit Administration for vehicle procurements. The recipient, which is certifying compliance, is procuring buses from a manufacturer. The document confirms the recipient has received the manufacturer's self-certification that the buses will comply with the relevant Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards.
The state and local contract opportunity is being led by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) Rail and Transit Division, and the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA). The agencies intend to procure six types of fully accessible body-on-chassis vans and minibuses on an annual basis. MassDOT is the lead procuring agency and is acquiring the vehicles for use in conjunction with the FTA's Section 5310 program, while the MBTA plans to use the vehicles for The Ride program.
