About this file
This is a Contractor Questions form used by NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center Yokosuka to process inquiries from contractors regarding solicitation N6264926R0011. The form is divided into two sections: an upper section for contractor submission and a lower section restricted for NAVSUP FLCY internal use only.
The contractor question pertains to socket welding requirements specified across 55 datasheets within the solicitation, specifically addressing pipe wall thickness of 0.1875 inches or less. The contractor inquires whether it is feasible to switch from socket welding to a Lock ring system and requests exclusion of Lock ring penetrations from the scope of work for areas requiring the same pipe wall thickness. The NAVSUP FLCY technical review explicitly does not concur with either proposed change, stating that the SRF (Source Review Form) does not support switching from socket welding to a lock ring system and does not support exclusions of these penetrations from the scope of work. The NAVSUP FLCY Response section remains blank in this document, indicating the response was either not yet provided or is to be completed separately.

| CONTRACTOR QUESTIONs: With respect to the socket welding requirements outlined in multiple datasheets among the 55 specifications, specifically where the pipe wall thickness is 0.1875 inches or less, we would like to inquire if it is feasible to switch from socket welding to a Lock ring system. |
Furthermore, as Lock ring cannot be utilized for penetration areas that require the same pipe wall thickness, could we kindly request that these penetrations be excluded from the scope of work?
TECHNICAL REVIEW: SRF does NOT concur with switching from socket welding to a lock ring system.
SRF does NOT concur with these exclusions from the penetrations scope of work.
