AMENDMENT 0006
The purpose of this amendment is to provide the following:
1. Pre-Proposal Inquiry (PPI) Responses
Pre-Proposal Inquiry Responses:
Question # Reference
Question Government Response Page Section Paragraph
2A161
2I601
Paragraph states that work must be performed by an AISC Certified Structural Steel Fabricator and Erector. Is an alternate third party (Colliers Engineering & Design) Fabrication and Erection certification acceptable, when AISC Codes of Standard Practices are followed and supplemented by weekly shop and field-testing reports?
No, comply with specification requirements for steel fabricator and erector certifications.
26 28
01.00 10
According to specification 26 28 01.00 10, the contractor owns studies on all the existing electrical equipment along with ARC flash. For bidding purposes, please advise if studies are to be provided on only the new equipment that is tied into the existing or if studies are indeed required on all existing electrical equipment. If studies on all existing electrical equipment are required, please advise as to which work location studies are required on (ex. Bldg. 77H, Bldg. 670, etc.).
There are two substations in B77H where new equipment will be powered from under this project -the East Substation and the Southwest Substation. The Southwest Substation was recently replaced. The East Substation is undergoing replacement as part of a separate project. The idea would be to include the existing sources of power within the power study to ensure that the new equipment is fully coordinated with the existing power distribution system. Information on existing sources will need to be coordinated with the government.

28 31 70 & 28 31
For voltage drop calculations, please advise if this is just for the new feeders being implemented or if this includes the branch lines as well.
Voltage drop calculations are required to be performed as part of the power study. These would include feeders and any branch circuits for large pieces of equipment.
Voltage drop calculations for every branch circuit is not required as part of the study. However, voltage drop cannot exceed 5% for each branch circuit from the feeder source to the farthest component of the branch circuit per the NEC.
125 2M102 Please provide weight and dimensions of the salvaged environmental chamber unit.
Environmental Chamber unit is approximately 8 feet wide, 10 feet-6 inches long, and 10 feet high. For bidding purposes, assume unit weight is 50,000 lbs.
126 2S301
If available, please provide an aerial (exterior) rendering of the new design modifications for Bldg. 77H.
No exterior renderings exist.
127 2P602
Please advise how we are to provide integration for the Allen Bradley Fuel Oil Monitoring System to the equipment shown sheet 2P602 as nothing is mentioned.
