About this file

This notice provides information about a proposed federal construction contract for a P990 F-35B Vertical Lift Fan Test Facility at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point in North Carolina. The project involves constructing a reinforced concrete facility including a staging area, test control room, equipment room, inlet house area, lift fan test area, primary inlet plenum area, exhaust collector room, exhaust diffuser plenum area, 40,000 HP electric motor, and inlet/exhaust stacks. The solicitation will be issued on or around February 15, 2019 via the Navy Electronic Commerce Online website. The contracting agency is the Naval Facilities Engineering Command Mid-Atlantic. The North American Industry Classification System code is 236220 for commercial and institutional building construction, and the small business size standard is $36.5 million. While two responses were received to a sources sought notice, the contracting officer determined there is no reasonable expectation of adequate small business participation due to project requirements.
