AMENDMENT 12 PPI RESPONSE

PLEASE REVISE RESONSE TO PPI #10 (issued on Amendment 0009) as follows:

QUESTION: The Room Requirements for the storage bays are calling for pre‐finished insulated metal panels on the building. These insulated panels are above a CMU/Brick wainscot that runs 8’ high around the entire perimeter. The BEAP reads that light industrial buildings can use either insulated metal walls, brick, or a combination. Building 1430 next door was constructed with what appears to be floor to ceiling uninsulated metal wall panels, with insulation secured to the inside face of the panels. Building 1430 represents traditional PEMB construction and is by far the most cost‐effective way to construct a PEMB building. Is it possible to match the look of Building 1430 directly adjacent to this project?

DELETE PREVIOUS RESPONSE which stated : “Yes, floor to ceiling uninsulated panels with the insulation secured to the inside face of the panel is acceptable”.

REPLACE WITH REVISED RESPONSE: "NO, Provide metal panels above 8' high CMU/brick wainscot per Room Requirements."

The following responses to previously PENDING PPIs are as follows:

PPI #79 ‐ Please confirm the power source to the facility is considered reliable per UFC 3‐600‐01.

RESPONSE: Proceed based on the assumption that power in NOT reliable.

PPI #83 ‐ Will the fire pump need an automatic transfer switch, this would switch the pump over to a generator in the event of a power loss, be required?

RESPONSE: It is assumed that the power is unreliable (see PPI #79) and as such, an automatic transfer switch will be required.

PPI #92 ‐ Please confirm the ASHRAE requirements for this project.

RESPONSE: Question is vague. ASHRAE 90.1‐2013 is the version currently in effect for energy use requirements.

ASHRAE 62.1‐2013 is in effect for indoor air quality, per IMC 2015. ASHRAE 189.1‐2014 as invoked by UFC 1‐200‐ 02 is for moisture control. For ASHRAE 90.1, Appendix G energy use comparison, in order to comply with EPACT 2005, 90.1‐2013 is to be used.

Additional PPI #1 ‐ Please clarify how the Building 1430 pavement is to connect with the new pavement for P977.

Are we required to dowel into the existing pavement or just abut the existing pavement with the new apron.

RESPONSE: Contractor will be required to dowel into the existing pavement at Building 1430 with the new apron.

Additional Clarification #1 ‐ PPI 80 and 88 both note to provide the 8' CMU wainscot on the perimeter of the building. Section B2010 in the RFP only references the 8' CMU enclosure, but doesn't reference any further details on the wainscot finish/appearance. Looking at the BEAP in Part 6, the Industrial District maintenance/industrial buildings are to have metal wall panels on the exterior. Light Industrial buildings are to have a combination of

N4008518R0617 brick and/or metal wall panels. With‐in the BEAP, the detailing/fenestration and materials/colors sections generically call for modular size red brick w/ gray accent brick as required. The BEAP Appendix C calls for Field Face Wire Cut Red Modular/Utility Brick, and Wire Cut Light Gray Modular/Utility Light Gray accent face. Our question is, does this 8' CMU wainscot require a red modular face brick veneer on the exterior face of the building?

We presume this is the case, as there will need to be a cavity section in the wall to bring the insulation and air/vapor barrier down to grade, but wanted to confirm that the Gov't wants the base standard modular red face brick on the outside face of the wall. Please note, that although this is the base standard, it will contrast the look of Building 1430, directly adjacent, which is simply metal wall panel from grade to eave.

RESPONSE: Provide red modular brick.

Additional Clarification #2 ‐ As a follow up question, PPI 86 confirmed that the only painting inside the vehicle storage bays would be the safety yellow on the steel columns up to 10' AFF. If we are now incorporating an 8' CMU wainscot on the entire perimeter of the vehicle storage bays, and C3010 notes that all CMU walls must be grout filled and epoxy painted (which matches 5.0 Room Requirements, Vehicle Storage Bays) . are we to leave the CMU walls in the storage bays unfinished, or do we need to epoxy paint all of these walls?

RESPONSE: Painting the CMU is not required.

ADDITIONAL RFI #39 ‐ Are any trench drains required inside the building? If so, what are the requirements?

RESPONSE: Trench drains are not required inside the building.
